Bringing a new dimension to dining!
After months of work and planing the new 50 seat restaurant ‘The Barn’ is now
open for bookings and is already doing a brisk trade, with a Birthday and a
Wedding Party already booked in for June.
For the main summer season the restaurant will be used as part of the dining
experience at the White Horse although it would be available for private
functions and parties should it be required. During the winter months the
restaurant will be open every Friday and Saturday and at holiday periods
including Christmas and New Year. However it is hoped to use the area for a
whole host of different functions including music nights, meetings and local
exhibitions.
Landlord Darren Walsgrove said “We are all delighted with the restaurant,
it has brought back to life a simple yet beautiful building which will in the
future have a whole host of uses not only for pub functions but I hope for the
village as a whole”.
The opening of the new 50 seat restaurant will double the capacity of the
dining area at the pub which is good news to Head Chef Nathan Boon,
who is looking forward to creating new menus and of course giving him and
his team the opportunity of showing their culinary skills in catering for
functions.
Nathan said “It is always good to have new challenges and The Barn will give
all my staff the chance to be more creative, while continuing to serve the
highest quality of fresh locally sourced food”.
Diners in the new restaurant will also be able to enjoy a relaxing drink in the
new lounge area, giving them the opportunity to relax with a pre dinner drink before being shown to their table. This new area also has access to the garden which offers the perfect summer 'alfresco' dining experience.
