Our Chefs and their Kitchen
The owners of the White Horse believe they are indeed priviledged to have Nathan Boon as their Head Chef. Arguably one of the best young chefs in the County, his reputation is steadily growing and he is establishing a well deserved reputation for his creative menus.
Nathan’s fresh approach to cooking and his passionate belief in using all things local and in season have given rise to an ever growing reputation and an increasing following of regular diners.
A firm believer of in house cooking, on a day to day basis, he insists that baked bread, cured meats, pasta, ice creams and smoked fish are all produced on the premises, along side only buying the best produce from suppliers hand picked from east Anglia to ensure customers are receiving the best quality ingredients available.
These simple principles of great local produce and in house cooking has led the White horse to achieve two AA rosettes, best pub menu finalist and best pub nominee and as a side note 5 out of 5 kitchen Hygeine rating.
Alongside the White horse's achievements there have been individual honours with sous chef Mark cook a chef of the future finalist and chef de partie Ben Hughes winning local food hero at the age of 18.
The menus are changed on a monthly basis to move with the seasons and to keep the menu fresh and inviting to our growing amount of regular diners.
