The White Horse is a Four Star AA Rated Pub/Restaurant/B&B, situated on the North Norfolk coast in the unspoilt Village of Overstrand. A large Victorian Three-Storey Building, just refurbished to an extremely high standard. We have a large Bar Area and Lounge, Games Room, stylish Restaurant over-looking our Beer Garden and seven En-Suite Rooms.
Things to see and do. A rich and varied choice of places to visit and things to see and do can all be found in and around North Norfolk. There are a number of National Trust attractions throughout Norfolk. We are a 20 minute drive from The National Trust properties at Blickling and Felbrigg. 10 minutes away is the pretty coastal town of Sheringham with its historic Steam Railway, bustling Town Centre, Weekly Market, Theatre and Leisure Pool.
We are 5 minutes from Cromer, which has everything you would expect from a Traditional Seaside Resort which has retained a lot of it’s historic buildings. It has a Shopping Centre, Museum, Beautiful Church with open Tower, Amusements and small Fair for younger children, Boating Lake, Trampolines, Crazy Golf etc. Cromer Pier houses the Lifeboat Museum which is well worth an visit and also The Pavilion Theatre which runs its popular Seaside Special show throughout the summer.
The historic city of Norwich is within easy reach by both car and train. The Pretty Market Towns of Holt and Aylsham are both within 15 miles and again you can get there by car or train
Birdwatching. North Norfolk boasts unique Birwatching Territory with the Magnificent Norfolk Broads, most with their own Visitor and Information Centres, some with Nature Reserves and designated Birdwatching Areas and Boat Trips. If you wish you can take a full or half day tour trip on the Broads or hire your own boat. The beautiful Salt Marshes at Blakeney and Morston, with Seal Boat Trips are a short drive away, along the pretty Coast Road. There is also the Ted Ellis Nature Reserve on the outskirts of Norwich.
Golf. If you are a Golfer we can boast several Golf Courses within a short drive - Cromer - 5 minutes, Mundesley 10 and Sheringham, about 15 minutes. Slightly further afield are the highly regarded Courses at Hunstanton and the Royal West Norfolk at Brancaster, both about a 40 minute drive.
Walking. The National Trust Country parks of Sheringham, with is fabulous display of Rhodedendrons and Holt are both close by. They have marked pathways ranging from two to seven miles. Both are disabled friendly, with wooden walkways and Sheringham will hire out Motorised Buggies, if required. Add to that the beautiful Coastal Walks, inland Footpaths and Cycle Paths and abundance of quaint villages to discover and you will see why North Norfolk is a popular choice for Ramblers and Walkers from across the British Isles.
